Virtus.pro announce Staff Cup #3

Virtus.pro have announced a third sequel to the tournament featuring organizations' staff members, taking place on the weekends of November 7-8 and 14-15.

After putting out $1,000 in the first Staff Cup, Virtus.pro significantly bumped up the prizemoney to $11,000 in the second, which had the undesired effect of attracting then-current high-tier players.

Due to that fact, and also to make the tournament more focused on the prestige and bragging rights, rather than the prizemoney, the third Staff Cup will feature $2,000.

With the change in prizemoney comes a significant change to the system, which will now have a 16-team qualifier, with four top sides joining the top to four from the last edition.

Since two of SLTV.selectah players, who defeated HLTV.org's lineup in the grand final, started taking part in professional tournaments, the organizers decided to give their spot to Game Show.

Virtus.pro are now accepting applications for the 16 spots in the single-elimination qualifier, with the first round played in a best-of-one and the second in a best-of-three on November 7-8. Interested parties are to contact the organizers at staffcup@virtuspro.org.

The main eight-team tournament will be played the weekend afterwards, on November 14-15, in a double elimination, best-of-three bracket, barring the best-of-five grand final.
